| La SALLE La SALLE was never a resident of Randolph County, and yet he is too closely connected with its early history to omit mention of him. It was in this county that he landed at the mouth of Mary’s River on his voyage of exploration. It was here that he was told that the Mississippi emptied into the Gulf of Mexico and not as he had hoped into the Pacific Ocean. |
